Maya is our newest addition. She was
born February 13th, 2007. We are very excited to see
how this little girl matures. She has a beautiful head and wonderful
movement. She brings incredible size and substance to our kennel.
She has a great, playful temperament and is truly a delight to show.
In August, 2007 Maya earned her first UKC
major in Madras, Oregon. She did much better than I could have dreamed
earning Best of Variety 5 out of 6 shows during the weekend. Tristan did a
marvelous job showing her. Again he showed what a special way he has with
the puppies. She earned her second major, Thanksgiving weekend in
Longview, WA.
Maya made her AKC debut in December of 2007
and surprised me by taking Winner's Bitch from the puppy class and earned her
first two points. It was a wonderful Christmas present for me as Wilson
also won Best of Winners on both Saturday and Sunday. I was very proud of
both of them!
Maya became a UKC Champion on March 22, 2008
by earning Best of Winners at the VVRTC Show in Chehalis, WA. She showed
beautiful movement and tons of personality. At her next show, 2 months
later, she won her first two champion legs by taking the class in both show 1
and show 2 at the VVRTC shows in Shelton, WA. I was very pleased and
pleasantly surprised as she was the youngest in the class. A week later at
her next AKC show, she went Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners AND Best of Breed
from the classes. I was thrilled the judge put her up over the male
special and two nice class males.
She repeated her Winner's Bitch at her next
two shows in Puyallup and back to back wins in Mt Vernon. Each weekend Maya competed in
an AKC show, she proved she had what it takes by taking Winner's Bitch each of
those weekends. I'm very proud of her accomplishments.
The next weekend was the Washington Classic at
the very beautiful Argus Ranch in Auburn, WA. Maya grabbed her 3rd win
towards her Grand Champion Title on July 4th, 2008. We couldn't be more
pleased with her progress this season and look forward to what the rest of the
summer will bring for our young lady!
After a long time without a major in
Washington, we finally had our chance at the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club show in
Sequim, Washington. Maya took a 4pt major for Winner's Bitch on July 27,
2008. It was a very exciting day as our bred-by puppy, Echo, having just
turned 6-months old, also took the Reserve. I was very proud and pleased
with our two youngest girls! Maya is now just one 3-pt major away from her
AKC Champion title.
Maya is maturing into a lovely young bitch and
is starting to do very well for us in the ring. Patience hasn't always
been my strongest point, but I am learning that these big girls sometimes take a
little longer to come together. I think she's coming together nicely
though and look forward to the what the future may bring.
