Star came to us from
Crystal Caverns American Eskimos in Tacoma, Washington. We were amazed by her temperament and her beauty and Star soon became the love of our lives. She is a very intelligent little girl and thinks everyone should be as crazy about her as her humans are. She has been a very easy girl to train with her eagerness to please and
loves to work obedience.
Star earned her first UKC major in
August, 2006 in Lynden, WA and finished her Champion title a year later at the
same show. She evidently missed being in the ring, while she was being a
Mama, because she finished in remarkable style winning her first Best of Breed!
The judge noted that she liked Star's movement, type and beautiful expression.
Thank you judges, Judy Jones, Butch Bennett and Jeanne Heger for
recognizing her beauty.
Labor Day weekend, 2007 proved to be
a very good weekend for Nordic Whispers at the AKC Kelso/ Longview Kennel Club
Show in St. Helens, Oregon. I was very pleased with Star's first
appearance in the AKC rings. Sunday, Star earned Reserve Winners Bitch.
Dolly earned Winners Bitch and Wilson earned Winners Dog and Best of Winners.
I was very proud of all three of them.
Star started her obedience career in
September, 2009 at the Puget Sound K-9 UKC Trial at the beautiful Argus Ranch in
Auburn, WA. Her first weekend in the Rally ring, she earned a qualifying
score for both trials and a 1st Place her very first time in the ring and earned
a 2nd the next day. Star earned her URO1 title on October 4th, 2009 with
another 1st place finish. Moving on with URO2 and AKC Rally, then on to
Obedience.
We are excited to see how she will shine in obedience.
Star finished her AKC RN (Rally
Novice) at the Whidbey Island Kennel Club show in Monroe, WA; November, 2009.
I couldn't be more pleased as in both venues, she earned scores in the 90s each
of her required 3 legs which gave her top placement each and every time!
Star earned her AKC RA (Rally
Advanced) at the Rose City Classic Cluster in Portland, OR; January, 2010.
She earned three qualifying legs in three attempts and placed 2nd in her class
for the first leg and 3rd in her class for her last leg. She'll wait
awhile before heading on to Excellent as she still needs more practice and
she'll need to finish her URO2 in UKC.
Star has a lovely face with just a hint of
naughtiness that gives the phrase, "99% angel and 1% not" a new meaning. Her coat is long, full and beautiful with the most incredible tail. She’s the center of the attention and a perfect buddy to my son. Our little Christmas Star brought us back to the breed and always will hold a special place in our hearts.
